2012 Uncompensated Care Payment Notice

Disproportionate Share Hospital Notice of Review Deadlines -
On April 11, 2013, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) temporarily suspended the deadlines for hospitals seeking a review of qualification and data for the 2013 Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) program. The suspension was based on concerns from some hospitals that managed-care claims were missing from the data that was used for qualification and will be used to calculate hospital-specific limits. HHSC researched the issue and discovered that the missing claims contained non-hospital taxonomies that were assigned to the claims by the hospitals, resulting in the claims being excluded from the DSH data pulled by HHSC. Overview
The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Rate Analysis for Hospital Services develops reimbursement methodology rules for determining payment rates/fees for Medicaid Hospital Services. General Medicaid program rules for Hospital Services are located at Title 1 of the Texas Administrative Code, Part 15, Chapter 354, SubChapter A, Division 10, Rule §354.1121. Additional general Medicaid program rules for Hospital Services are located at Title 1 of the Texas Administrative Code, Part 15, Chapter 354, SubChapter A, Division 11, Rules 1131-1190. HHSC Rate Analysis for Hospital Services develops payment rates/fees in accordance with published rules and policy guidelines for Hospital Services.
