The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed amendments to §354.1001 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 354, Subchapter A, Division 1, concerning Claim Information Requirements, and to §354.1121 under Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 354, Subchapter A, Division 10, concerning Definitions.

The proposed amendments require the name and national provider identifier of a supervising provider on a claim when a supervised provider makes an order or referral for services.  As stated in Section two of House Bill 1720, 82nd Legislature, Regular Session, 2011, this situation typically occurs when an advanced practice registered nurse or physician assistant orders a service.  Additionally, the term national provider identifier is added to the definitions.

Written Comments.  Written comments on the proposed amendments to the rule may be submitted to Garry Walsh, Operations Oversight, Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program Division, HHSC, at P.O. Box 85200, Mail Code H-390 91X, Austin, Texas 78708-5200; by fax to 512-249-3707 or by email to garry.walsh@hhsc.state.tx.us within 30 days of publication of this proposal in the Texas Register.

People requiring Americans with Disabilities Act accommodation, auxiliary aids or services should call Leigh A. Van Kirk at 512-491-2813 at least 72 hours before the hearing so appropriate arrangements can be made.
