The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed amendments to Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 354, Subchapter A, Division 2, §354.1015, concerning the Medicaid Vision Care Program, Benefits and Limitations and §3541021, concerning the Medicaid Vision Care Program, Additional Claims Info Requirements; and Title 1, Part 15, Chapter 363, Subchapter E, §363.502, concerning the Early Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment Eyeglass Program.
HHSC proposes to add axis changes as a condition that will allow clients to receive vision services more frequently than the benefit limitations allow. Additionally, the claims criteria for vision care services is updated to indicate that the provider’s signature on the claim form of the physician or supplier verifies the axis changes required to dispense replacement eyewear.
Written Comments. Written comments on the proposed amendments to the rule may be submitted to Armandina Zamora-Torres, Medicaid/Children’s Health Insurance Program Division, HHSC, at P.O. Box 85200, Austin, TX 78708-5200, Mail Code H-390 91X; by fax to 512-249-3707; or by email to armandina.zamora-torres@hhsc.state.tx.us within 30 days of publication of this proposal in the Texas Register.
People requiring Americans with Disabilities Act accommodation, auxiliary aids or services should call Leigh A. Van Kirk at 512-491-2813 at least 72 hours before the hearing so appropriate arrangements can be made.
