Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed four members to the Committee on Licensing Standards for terms to expire Feb. 1, 2012. The committee makes recommendations for policy and statutory changes that relate to licensing standards and facility inspections, and analyzes deaths of children in substitute care and the licensing standards that were violated during such incidents. -

Gov. Rick Perry has named William C. “Bill” Sproull of Richardson chair of the Texas Emerging Technology Advisory Committee for a term to expire at the pleasure of the governor. The committee recommends proposals eligible for funding under the Texas Emerging Technology Fund to the governor, lieutenant governor, and speaker of the House. Sproull has been a member of the Advisory Committee since its inception in 2005. -

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Todd Henry of Wimberley to the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners for a term to expire Aug. 26, 2015. The board is the licensing agency for veterinarians in Texas. -

Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed Jerry Gipson of Longview to the Sabine River Compact Commission for a term to expire July 12, 2016. The commission is divided between two representatives each from Texas and Louisiana, and one representative from the greater U.S. The commission oversees water rights from the Sabine River, ensures both states receive an equitable share of the water from the river and its tributaries, and that the provisions of the compact are adhered. -

Regional mobility authorities allow local communities to develop regional transportation priorities, and accelerate development and financing for critical transportation projects.
