Brain Injury Educational DVDs
Making a Difference includes 10 sections that illustrate the neuro-anatomy of a brain injury and the everyday difficulties experienced by many brain injury survivors.
This instructional video offers useful tips for effective communication and for directing individuals, families and caregivers to needed supports and services. The training is ideal for survivors, family members, caregivers, health care professionals, educators, policy makers and others who want to understand the issues that challenge individuals with brain injury. Each video includes a section that addresses the special needs of veterans with brain injury.
The Spanish DVD includes a special introduction by Major General Jose Mayorga, former Adjutant General of Texas Military Forces speaking about the unique needs of service members and veterans and the personal story of a Texas Army National Guard 1st Sergeant who sustained a brain injury in Iraq.
The DVDs are a public service of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission Office of Acquired Brain Injury and the Texas Traumatic Brain Injury Advisory Council funded through grants from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Maternal and Child Health Bureau projects # H21MC06741 and #H21MC16375.
