These awards are contingent upon the successful negotiation and execution of a contract. In the event negotiations are unsuccessful, HHSC may initiate negotiations with the next successful vendor or vendors. |

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) announce the issuance of Request for Proposal (RFP) # 529-10-0101 for the Health Equity Project. The purpose of the Health Equity Project is to expand and enhance the efforts of health and human services organizations to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive programming that seeks to reduce health disparities and promote health literacy among underserved communities in Texas. This RFP particularly seeks to support and strengthen community-based organizations and groups, with a focus on health and human service, to include: faith-based groups, community development groups, and non-profit entities that employ community-based practices to reduce health disparities. Local and state agencies may apply, but preference will be given to non-profit entities, community-based organizations, or partnerships that include community-based organization in a leadership role. Respondents are expected to frame health projects in accordance with the specifications contained in this RFP.
